The Weminuche Tree Farm was started in 1994 with the planting of our first field of Blue Spruce. We wanted to start with the best transplants we could get, so we choose strains originating from the four corners region of the U.S. (KIABABS and SAN JUANS). Weminuche is a Ute Native American word for a rugged high mountainous area in Southwestern Colorado (The Weminuche Wilderness). One of the most beautiful places in the world. The natural characteristics of the Blue Spruce and fir from this region have proven to be exceptional.

Right from the beginning we were never concerned with being a big Tree Farm. But we did know that we wanted to do everything possible to grow and deliver the best quality tree's at a reasonable price.

All trees are fresh dug. We use top quality wire baskets and burlap. The clay loam soils in our fields have proven excellent for well-proportioned growth; density and color. As well as a nice tight root system and transplant survivability. All stock is inspected and certified.
